Enshi
City-Wuhan-Shanghai
We will leave Enishi City on the regular morning flight, and then connect
with another aircraft for the flight to Shanghai. The flights into and
out of Enshi City are sometimes delayed by rainsqualls or fog, so there
are several hours of cushion built into the connection. If everything
works right, we will arrive in Shanghai in late afternoon and check into
the Hyland Sofitel Hotel. This luxury hotel is located a block off Shanghai's
primary commercial street, Nanjing Road, and about 15 minutes from the
Bund.

Shanghai
Day #1 - We are "underscheduling" on this day
in Shanghai, providing a half-day city tour to get you oriented and then
turning the group loose for the afternoon. We have a number of recommendations
for things that you might want to see, or you can just get that last minute
shopping done. This evening we will have our "Farewell Banquet"
filled with pomp, ceremony and good cheer.

We
will spend a day in the wonderful city of Suzhou, often called the
"Venice of China" because of its canals. |

One
of the remarkable Suzhou gardens that we will visit.Suzhou Day Trip |
We
will spend this last full day in Suzhou, a beautiful city of canals and
gardens. We will sample at least one of Suzhou's temples, a garden, and
then spend some time at one of their famous silk factories. This is the
place to buy silk products, and our guides will assist us in getting the
"best prices."
We have not scheduled anything on this final evening so that you can devote
your attention to packing, or walking down to the Bund to gaze at the
lights and over at the Pudong District that represents China's future.

Shanghai
to SFO - We will zip through Shanghai's modern airport
and off to San Francisco, arriving (through the magic of the International
Dateline) on the same day that we depart. It should be noted that we are
arriving in SFO on a relatively busy travel day, Monday May 26, Memorial
Day, so getting through Customs and out of the airport might take a little
longer than usual.
