After six months of intense preparation, reading and discussion, a group of 35 adventurers (the majority from Santa Cruz County) traveled from Beijing to Xining on the Tibetan Plateau, and then boarded the Qinghai-Lhasa railroad, world's highest train, for an unforgettable trip to Tibet.

Using a combination of photographs and oral presentations, the group will share – for the first time – their observations, impressions and conclusions about what they experienced and what it all might mean.

If you have an extensive background in Tibet, or just a passing interest, this will be a rare opportunity to hear and see what a group of informed Californians experienced.

Despite the somewhat uncomfortable political situation in Tibet, the Tibetan people have maintained their native equanimity and sense of humor.
