Pescadero Past and Present:
A Total Experience
Sunday, January 29 – 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
(Note: There is no NFL play-off game scheduled on January 29th, in case you wonder about such things.)
So, how did this very New England-looking little town with the Spanish name and the Azorean restaurant come to be?
Pescadero is experiencing a revival of its history, including the renovation of the historic (and remarkable) Pescadero Native Son's Hall.
We will have a leisurely afternoon walk through the town and will be joined by Greg Timm, the President of the Pescadero History Society, and Ed Weeks one of Pescadero's native sons. Greg and Ed will share some of their recent discoveries involving Pescadero's history.
We will also be joined by Tess Black, author of
the remarkable new book, Duarte's Tavern: Where friends meet since 1894. The day will end with a no-host dinner at Duarte's, and the book will be available at a special discounted price.
This will be a rare opportunity to see and hear Pescadero's most intimate history.
Fee: $45 and will include a revised walking tour booklet of Pescadero. A donation will be made to the Pescadero History Society.

Greg Timm describing the history of his own Pescadero home. Greg has become on the region's leading historians, and will be co-leading our walk.

Tess Black has written the definitive book about not only Duarte's restaurant, but also of Pescadero and its environs. She will be with us during the day and will discuss the book and restaurant at day's end.
Lunch: You should bring a lunch. Drinks and treats will be provided.
